Walnuts are easy to grow in Pennsylvania. They typically ripen around the first frost of the year. Not only are they easy to grow, according to Joe Vinson of the University of Scranton, they possess a wide range of health benefits. “A handful of walnuts contains almost twice as much antioxidants as an equivalent amount of any other commonly consumed nut,” he said in a statement.
